Rachel Lee, 'Bling Ring' member, pleads no contest to thieving from Audrina Patridge
Another member of the notorious "Bling Ring," a group charged with stealing $3 million in cash, jewelry and other property from a variety of young celebrities, is going to jail after pleading no contest last Friday (Sept. 23).The alleged ringleader, Rachel Lee, copped to first-degree residential burglary for thieving nearly $43,000 in valuables from Audrina Patridge's Hollywood Hills house in 2009. As part of the agreement, she's expected to receive four years in state prison.
Lee is the third of the seven to plead no contest to charges stemming from the crimes that robbed property from celebs including Patridge, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. The other two members of the ring are Alexis Neiers and Jonathan Ajar.
The other four defendants - Courtney Leigh Ames, Roy Lopez Jr., Nicholas Prugo and Diana Tamayo - have pleaded not guilty. Their next scheduled court date is Nov. 18.
The robberies became a national media sensation in late 2008 and 2009 because of the high-profile nature of the victims. In 2011, Lifetime even did a made-for-TV movie about the group starring Jennifer Grey.
