Padfoot the dog from 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' is up for adoption

Since we are located in Hollywood, we have two big Hollywood dreams:

  • Dream one -- to be walking down the street when Nicolas Cage careens off the road in his Mercedes and lightly taps us; he jumps out of his car and, in a panic, writes us a blank check.
  • Dream two -- to own a working actor pet who rakes in the dough while we sit back and drink a whole tray of Mai Tais.

We are that much closer to dream two.

Berry, the black German Shepherd who portrayed Padfoot (a.k.a Sirius Black) in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" is up for adoption. The dog's owner, stuntman Paul Thompan told British paper the Daily Mail that he "found [himself] spending a lot of time away from home...it was a difficult decision to make but one I had to accept was best for the dogs."

Berry, listed on a British Shepherd Rescue site, took the liberty of describing himself:

"I am a German Shepherd and my Dad got me as a puppy. He did lots of exciting things like being a stunt man and animal training for films. That's probably how I got my part."

So even though Berry is a bit on the old side, look at the positives: he's got a Hollywood pedigree, he saved Harry Potter from a werewolf (watch the movie duh) and if you pair him with Voldemort Cat (pictured below), you've got yourself a regular Harry Potter animal troupe! Adopt now!

p.s. we'd bet that he lasted all of six minutes before somebody snapped him up. Guess we have to wait on Sunset Blvd. for Nicolas Cage...
