Micheal J. Fox 'Back to the Future' shoes: Meet the man who paid $37,500 for them
The Marty McFly "Back to the Future"-inspired Nike Air Mags have every nostalgia junkie in the country salivating... but unfortunately, in order to do so, most of us would have to sell a car a couple of times over. If you're looking into a life of crime, however, TMZ uncovered the identity of the guy who did buy the $37,500 light up sneakers. (Which don't power-lace, by the way. That's like buying a hoverboard that doesn't even work on water.)
The sneaker junkie who coughed up the dough was 22-year-old British rapper named Tinie Tempah. The money went to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, appropriately.
While we love the charitable angle, if we spent that much, we'd expect those shoes to come with a functional flux capacitor.
If you need a refresher on the awesomeness that is "Back to the Future Part II"... you're welcome.
