Madonna apologizes (not really) on YouTube for hydrangea incident

Madonna has made a career out of being brash and unapologetic. Did anybody really expect THIS to be the turning point?

Madonna uploaded a video today (Sep. 12) to her YouTube account entitled "Madonna's love letter to hydrangeas." The video is a tightly irised, sepia-toned silent movie which sees Madonna lovingly caressing a bouquet of the infamous flowers.

"You have no idea how many nights I have lost thinking how I hurt you," the subtitles read. "My heart is going to burst with sadness. I need to know in time you may forgive me."

Then, with a record scratch, Madonna turns on a dime. She tosses the flowers to the ground and stomps on them. An angry Madonna shouts at the camera "It's a free country! So f*** you I like roses!!"

Gotta give a girl credit for sticking to her guns. Though we sense a future SAT question -- Garlic : Vampires as Hydrangeas : ??
