Madonna allowed to 'loathe' hydrangeas, says rep

Madonna, who recently spurned a fan's gift of a hydrangea bough, is allowed to hate any flower of her choice. This according to a rep.

At the Venice Film Festival where she was promoting her new movie "W.E.," Madge was captured on video accepting and then dissing a handful of flowers given to her by a fan. After placing the offending blossoms under a table, she leans to her right and says, "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. He obviously didn't know that."

"She's entitled to like any flower she wants and she didn't want to hurt the feeling of the hydrangeas of the world," a rep said in a statement to CNN. "No disrespect to the hydrangeas lovers of the world but she prefers different types of flowers."

Fear not, Madonna. We're sure both hydrangeas and hydrangea lovers are just fine without your support.
