Kate Gosselin 'freaking out' about 'Kate Plus 8' series finale

"Kate Plus 8" is going off the air and star Kate Gosselin is a little worried about going back to her normal life as a mom. She tells People, "I'm freaking out. Big time."

"Kate Plus 8," the tweaked version of "Jon and Kate Plus 8," which ended when Jon and Kate got divorced in 2009, has been on the air since 2005 and Kate says nobody was ready for it to end.

The kids "weren't ready" for it to be over, she says, adding, "Nobody was. I've never quit a job in my life without having something else lined up. I don't know what's next."

The kids have become accustomed to living in the large home in Wyomissing, PA that was remodeled to accommodate the large family. Kate says. "I told [the kids] I will work my fingers to the bone to make sure that they can stay here and go to their school. There are no guarantees in life for anyone, but they know that I'm giving it my best shot."

The series finale of "Kate Plus 8" airs Monday night (Sept. 12) at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
