James Franco buys fan art of himself at Toronto Film Festival
For years we've been making Tiffani-Amber Thiessen mosaics out of recycled pogs and never once has she noticed. Fortunately, the same cannot be said of 13-year-old James Franco enthusiast Macy Armstrong. Armstrong runs the very specific Tumblr "James Franco Forever" and is an amateur artist who works exclusively in the medium of -- you guessed it -- James Franco.
James Franco was at the Toronto Film Festival for just one day to discuss his new art installation honoring the 1991 Gus Van Sant film "My Own Private Idaho." Armstrong, wearing a homemade Franco T-shirt, attended the exclusive event with three of her finest works in tow: a yarn James Franco portrait, a newspaper James Franco collage and a canvas "127 Hours" poster. Franco spotted the girl in the crowd and announced his intention to buy her work, stating that he "saw that one on the Internet, someone sent it to me. I wanna buy those."
Mission accomplished, Macy Armstrong. Armstrong's reaction was understandably elated. "He looked at me, he spoke to me, and I'm pretty sure we mentally got married," she wrote on her Tumblr. Let's hope for Macy's sake that Franco doesn't just throw the works up on Ebay.
