Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong booted from Southwest flight for sagging pants

billie-joe-armstrong-sag2-gi.jpgGreen Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong was kicked off of a Southwest Airlines flight from Oakland to Burbank, Calif., on Thursday (Sept. 1) because of -- wait for it -- sagging pants.

Armstrong was reportedly waiting to put his bag in an overhead bin when a flight attendant asked him to pull up his pants.

"Don't you have better things to do than worry about that?" Armstrong said. The flight attendant then repeated the request, according to an ABC affiliate producer who was on the flight.

Armstrong replied, "I'm just trying to get to my f---ing seat."

The singer and his traveling companion were then removed from the flight. Soon after, Armstrong tweeted, "Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the f---? No joke!"

He took the next flight to Los Angeles.

Southwest, realizing the high-profile snafu, soon tweeted this apology: ""Very sorry for your experience tonight, someone from our Customer Relations Team will reach out to you to get more details."

Southwest later released a fuller statement:

"As soon as we became aware of what had happened, we reached out to apologize for this Customer's experience. He elected to take the next flight. We followed up with this Customer and involved Employees to get more details and, in our latest conversations, understand from the Customer the situation was resolved to his satisfaction."

In 2010, actor/director Kevin Smith was kicked off of a Southwest flight for being too fat.

Special treatment because he's a celebrity.

And if the person wasn't a celebrity it would of been tough luck you're stranded at the airport.
All because you had saggy pants ! WTH !
Why kick a person off a flight for something so stupid ?

What's it going to be next week.
You don't wear designer clothes ,get off the plane !

We don't like the way your hair is cut , get off the plane !

I say again, he got on another flight because he's a celebrity:

If he'd been any other normal Joe, he wouldn't have been able to fly Southwest.

I'm tired of all the preferential treatment we give celebrities these days. This includes breaks because "jail time might be to rough for soft souls."

Without knowing how saggy "saggy" means, I'm withholding judgment.

I was in a convenience store a little while back and the kid in front of me had his pants down around his thighs... plenty enough to see all of his tightie whities, and some thigh below.

If Armstrong dressed as moronically as some people these days, good on Southwest for booting him off. Just because you can play a guitar and whine about the government, doesn't mean you should get special treatment regarding decency laws or anything.

his response to her was pretty rude--and twice! what as *** hole.

Whiner indeed and he's an old man trying to dress like a kid...grow up little man.

I do not feel sorry for him. Pull up your pants you a**hole. And keep your rude mouth shut.

I do not feel sorry for him. Pull up your pants you a**hole. And keep your rude mouth shut.

Well, by all means, allow this undignified "celebrity" (of whatever sort he is) to take his flight inspite of how the appearance of his butt crack affects other passengers. Obviously he doesn't dare. Hey, Southwest, we pay our fares, too. I hope you put some type of seat cover on his seat before he sat down in case he left "skid" marks.

@Laurel ... If he wasn't a celebrity, he would've pulled his pants up and got to stay on the plane. But he clearly has that douchebag celebrity ego so he got kicked off. GOOD for Southwest!
