Cyndi Lauper screws up national anthem

Girls may just want to have fun, but girls should also practice the national anthem in their hotel rooms before the singing it live.  

80s icon Cyndi Lauper gave "The Star-Spangled Banner" her best shot this Saturday (Sep. 10) at the U.S. Open tennis tournament and came up just a wee bit short. Damn you, national anthem. You've thwarted yet another pop legend.

Lauper, like her blonde sister-in-screw-up Christina Aguilera, has performed the anthem before without mistake. However, Lauper claims the emotion of the day got the best of her, stating on Twitter that "I got choked up in the middle remembering 9/11."

The flub occurs at :48 seconds if you want to skip ahead. Though in our completely uneducated musical opinion, the whole shebangabang is a bit of a flub. Zing.
