Charlie Sheen to Jay Leno: 'I was out of control'

charlie-sheen-jay-leno.jpgOn Thursday (Sept. 15), Charlie Sheen stopped by "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" to chat up the late night host about his new series, "Anger Management" and talk about his departure from TV's highest rated sitcom, "Two and a Half Men."

Considering the totally "winning" Sheen to which we've become accustomed, he was surprisingly even-keeled.

He did discuss the whole "winning" phase -- when he was fired from "Two and a Half Men," entered into a group relationship with two "goddesses" and dropped a bumper crop of notable quotables (see gallery below) -- and admitted to Leno that he was in fact out of control:

Sheen told Leno he thought he'd be hired back.

"I thought I could come back," says Sheen. "Kind of like you did."

The actor denies he's still angry with CBS and the show's producers (in the form of Chuck Lorre), saying, "No, no. I would have fired my a** too. Well, maybe not like they did."

And he has nothing but good stuff to say about his "Two and a Half Men" successor, Ashton Kutcher.

"Seriously, no. It's hard to give advice to a guy that accomplished," says Sheen. "I would just give him a hug and just say, 'Make me proud, dude.'"
