Box Office: 'Contagion' proves infectious, 'Bucky Larson' not likely to be a star

contagion-warner-bros.jpgSteven Soderbergh's "Contagion" appears to be on its way to winning a slow weekend box office. The thriller, about a rapidly spreading disease, delivered a Friday opening of approximately $8 million according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Last week's number one "The Help" slipped a spot, but the film should soon pass the $150 million domestic gross. The rest of the top five will likely shape up to be the MMA film "Warrior" in third, "The Debt" starring Helen Mirren in fourth and Zoe Saldana's movie "Colombiana" in fifth.

The Adam Sandler-produced comedy "Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star" appears not to be much of a star after all with a paltry $540,000 take on Friday.
