Alexa Flutie, Doug Flutie's daughter, makes Patriots cheerleading squad debut

Alexa Flutie, who grew up watching her dad bring home the bacon on the gridiron, is headed to the sidelines for the New England Patriots. The 23-year-old daughter of former Pats quarterback Doug Flutie is one of the newest members of the Patriots cheerleading squad.

"That was something I always looked up to and wanted to do," Flutie, a former Miss Massachusetts who had tried out a few times before told Boston.com. Asked about her dad's reaction, Alexa tells Boston.com, "He's very supportive and excited."

While the announcement of Flutie's inclusion on the team came in May, Flutie officially signed and introduced at a Patriots event on Friday (Sept. 2).
