Will Jennifer Grey's 'Dirty Dancing' replacement be Emma Stone?

jennifer-grey-emma-stone-gi.jpgWe have to admit, when we heard about Kenny Ortega's planned "Dirty Dancing" remake, we sort of wanted to cry, and then eat our feelings in watermelon. We were assuaged slightly when the original "Dirty Dancing" star, Jennifer Grey, tweeted her approval of the remake. After all, Ortega has a history with the film -- he choreographed the moves that Grey and Patrick Swayze performed in the original.

The question is, then, who will replace Grey and Swayze in the iconic roles of Baby and Johnny. At the moment, Digital Spy reports that Emma Stone tops the list as the favorite to play Baby, the wealthy New York virgin whose world is rocked when she and her family take a summer vacation in the Catskills. At their resort, she meets Johnny, a working class dance instructor who teaches Baby to dance... and a few other things along the way.

Apparently, Justin Timberlake is the fan favorite to fill Swayze's sexy shoes. Sure, we know he can dance -- we memorized the "Bye, Bye, Bye" choreography in 2000 just like every other self respecting teenage girl -- but can he pull off the Johnny Castle of it all?

Odds are also good, apparently, for "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth and "Dancing With The Stars" pro Derek Hough. Unsurprisingly, fans like the idea of Zac Efron landing the role, too -- which makes sense, given his "High School Musical" history with Ortega. As for Baby, after Emma Stone fans like "Glee's" Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, or Selena Gomez as potential lead actresses.

Any chance of bringing Grey back on as Marjorie Houseman, Baby's mom? Not only would that serve a link between old and new, Kelly Bishop's line during Baby and Johnny's big dance ("I think she gets this from me") would be perfect for her to say.

Derek Hough is the only choice for the Johnny Castle role

Ugh no, Hough is not attractive enough to play Johnny. Timberlake or Hemsworth. And Stone/Roberts.

Chris Hemsworth should take the lead role, and Emma stone as baby. Hough not good looking enought and built.

Timberlake isn't very good looking and he can't dance
