'The Smurfs' get a sequel; 'Smurfs 2' due in 2013
American moviegoers have no one but themselves to blame for the just-announced "Smurfs" sequel that will be smurfing its way into theaters on the already announced date of Aug. 2, 2013. Despite mediocre reviews, the original reboot debuted to a $35 million opening weekend and since then has racked up a total of $78 million in domestic ticket sales alone, so the fact that Sony would want to go back to the well isn't a huge surprise.
So far the details are sketchy. We know the release date (above) and the producer, Jordan Kerner. No word yet on whether or not Neil Patrick Harris or Hank Azaria will reprise their roles.

But no Showgirls 2? Not even straight-to-video Showgirls 2?
Its full title will called "Smurfs 2: The Smurfquel".
Unbelievable and the author is right...blame all the people who went to see this garbage that caused a sequel to be discussed.
