'The Hunger Games' teaser out from MTV

Let the "Games" begin.

MTV released Thursday (Aug. 25) a 15-second teaser for the preview of the much-anticipated movie "The Hunger Games." The full one-minute version will air during the upcoming Video Music Awards.

The film, based on the YA science-fiction novel by Suzanne Collins, focuses on a young girl, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), who fights to save her community in a post-apocalyptic world.

The 2011 VMAs air Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. ET.
