The 7-cent robbery and the ribs in pants special: Dumb crime day!
We've already told you all about the guy who tried to shove meat into his pants and make a break for it -- but more bizarre crime news, a 16-year-old Syracuse boy has been sentenced to prison after robbing a man of seven cents.Skyler Ninham and his 15-year-old accomplice Anthony Stewart assaulted an elderly man this past December, knocking to the ground, breaking his glasses, kicking him in the head, and punching him in the face -- all to steal the seven cents he had on him.
The boys threatened the victim with BB guns that the victim believed to be real weapons. Niham plead guilty in July and was sentenced to one to four years in prison. Stewart, on the other hand, decided to face a jury and did not plead guilty. He will have a permanent felony on his record, do jail time, and was not sentenced as a youthful offender but as an adult.
Ouch.

I think they got off easy. If that was a relative of mine...I WOULD WANT THE DEATH PENALTY BECAUSE SCUM LIKE THAT SHOULDN"T BE ALLOWED TO GROW UP !!!! THEY SHOULD BE PISTOL WHIPPED UNTIL DEAD !!! HOW COULD THEY DO THAT TO A DEFENSELESS SENIOR CITIZEN !!!
Wow, was this a misleading headline. It sounds like some overboard judge sentenced some poor kid for only stealing 7 cents. Instead, it's about a violent pair of thieves that were sentenced after beating an old man in order to get 7 cents. How about, "Violent Youths Sentenced for Robbing Man of Pocket Change". Too long? How about accuracy instead of size for headlines?
