J.C. Penney T-shirt claims pretty women don't do homework, Internet rages

Ahhh, the Internet. You'll rage about most anything, won't you?
Today's topic of web ire is J.C. Penney's delightfully sassy "Too Pretty To Do Homework" T-shirt. The blatantly misogynist tee makes the bold assertion that attractive women need not complete their homework assignments. As if that weren't bad enough, the miseducated female youngsters in question pass on their homework duties to their brothers, implying that men can do homework better than women. Disgusting.
The tee quickly went on sale from $16.99 to $9.99, indicating that women everywhere aren't afraid to stand up and fight such an egregious affront to their independence. The ghost of Susan B. Anthony could not be reached for comment.
The Internet rage swelled as an online petition appeared demanding that J.C. Penney stop promoting the offensive tee. That's right. Be the change you wish to see in the world.
Thankfully, J.C. Penney came to their senses and stopped this tsunami of sexism before it spiraled out of control. In an official statement made to the Village Voice, J.C. Penney reiterated that they are "committed to being America's destination for great style and great value for the whole family. We agree that the 'Too pretty' T-shirt does no deliver an appropriate message, and we have immediately discontinued its sale."
In 1790, Irish orator John Philpot Curan first said that "the condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance." In light of such events, let us never forget our responsibilities.

As a third grade teacher I think ALL of the tees out these days with their "funny" sayings and slogans about school and homework are a pain and can't believe parents buy them for their kids.
Really?? Come on. How stupid & uptight are you people? With all the things going on in the world and people are concerned about a non offensive tee shirt. Pull the stick out of your butt. It was suppose to be cute and funny. Anyway,to me it says hey I am smart enough to get my brother to do my homework and I am pretty too. So what's the issue.
If I was 9, I'd buy it! I think its cute! People are wayyy to uptight these days and need to get over themselves.
This was obviously a joke; let it go, for heaven's sake. Some people just need a cause to champion, I guess.
