Sofia Coppola marries Thomas Mars in Italy

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Sofia Coppola ("Lost in Translation") married longtime boyfriend Thomas Mars over the weekend at her family's villa in the Italian town of Bernalda.

The couple was married in a civil ceremony in the town where Coppola's grandparents grew up. According to the Hollywood Reporter, 80 guests were on hand for the wedding and Coppola wore a custom lavender gown by Azzedine Alaia.

Coppola, 40, and Mars, 34, have two children together: Romy, 4, and 15-month-old Cosima.

Coppola divorced fellow director Spike Jonze in 2003 after four years of marriage.
