Regis Philbin: Tom Bergeron 'would love' to replace me, he jokes

Regis Philbin apparently has a front-runner candidate for who should take over his seat when he leaves "Live with Regis and Kelly" in November - "Dancing With the Stars" host Tom Bergeron."Why not Bergeron? What is he doing? Tom Bergeron is not doing anything!" Regis jokes with Access Hollywood. "He could do it and he would love to do it. He wants to be a talk show host, I don't know how they got him on that dance thing. It's not gonna last."
Oh, Regis. You're such a cut-up.
And Tom says he can't make it work with his West Coast shows, since "Live" films in New York. "If we could maybe do it in Kansas - do everything in Kansas, then I'd be good. Yeah, yeah, something like that," jokes Bergeron.
Regis also says we won't see him dancing with the stars anytime soon -- "It's too much work. I've talked to people who have been on the show. They're all banged up, they need new hips, new knees I've done that -- don't want to do it again."
We think Tom would make a great Regis replacement, but he's right - logistically, it probably wouldn't work.

Tom was the host of a short-lived FOX network morning show a number of years ago with his co-host Laurie Gelman [Gelman from Regis and Kelly's wife] and I also recall Suzanne Wang from the original House Hunters on HGTV as a roving reporter. It was entertaining and unique. Although it would never happen, he would be a perfect replacement for regis.

The one that should be replaced is Ripa. She's more irritating than Gifford was, and that's hard to beat.
What about Mike Rowe, he would make a good host.

Tom is funny but I don't think he wants the job. Besides, I think Ralph Macchio would be great with Kelly! He is so cute and has a great sense of humor. I don't watch everyday now but I would if Ralph was on the show!

They should ask the viewers to vote on his replacement, after all we are the people who watch and keep the show on the air. I agree with several that Mike Rowe would be great, he is well spoken,very handsome, we ladies like a man's man. And he has a memory cell left. Actually, I would vote for anybody EXCEPT Kelly's husband! Had enough of her leading Regis by the nose, I sure don't want to watch her immasculate Mark.
