Michele Bachmann wishes Elvis Presley a Happy Birthday ... for his Death Day
While speaking to a crowd gathered at the drive-in restaurant The Beacon on Monday (Aug. 15), Minnesota congresswoman and Republican presidential candidate hopeful Michele Bachmann took a moment to say, "Before we get started, let's all say 'Happy Birthday to Elvis Presley' today."You can't do better than Elvis Presley and we thought we would celebrate his birthday as we get started celebrating taking our country back to work."
Quick fact check on that one ...
a) It's the anniversary of his death, not his birth -- that falls on Jan. 8
b) The day Elvis died was actually Aug. 16, not Aug. 15.
It seems someone tipped Bachmann off to her onstage gaffe since she later she told reporters that she was happy to be in South Carolina "on the anniversary of Elvis Presley's death."
c) Born in Tupelo, Mississippi before moving to Memphis, Tennessee in his teen years, The King has no meaningful ties to Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Points to the unidentified campaign organizer though who told Reuters, "You celebrate Elvis because he never died." Extra credit if Bachmann makes that her campaign slogan.

Gee, another photoshopped crazy-eyed pic of Bachmann.
Saturate the make-up color even more why don't you.
She sure has the liberal press spooked.
Bachmann is simply another politician speaking sound bites without thinking...we already have one like that in the white House...we don't need another!
I don't recall any that the Team Obama media have endlessly repeated these woppers: Obama's reference to the "57 States I've visited"; to the "Austrian language"; and to "the President of Canada." Obama also asserted that a Kansas tornado had killed 10,000 people when only 12 had died. All politicians make verbal slip ups, but only those of conservatives are gleefully pointed out. The ad hominem attacks against Bachmann by the media jackals have boomeranged against the Left and hugely helped Bachmann. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/how-attacking-michele-bachmann-is-making-her-stronger/2011/07/27/gIQAWdz4cI_blog.html Whenever the press attacks Bachmann, she gets a flood of support and money. She becomes ‘Every Woman,’ a misunderstood Tea Party mother of five facing down an elitist, arrogant, Obama-leaning press corps" The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on. 8/14/11 Bachmann wins Iowa Straw Poll.
I wasn't even thought of when he died but my mom is a huge fan!
Correcting a gaffe in your article, Bachmann was at The Beacon in Spartanburg, Tuesday, August 16, not Monday, Aug. 15
Elvis did appear in Spartanburg during his performing career.
