Meet Sabi: MTV VMAs 2011 highlight new artist and Britney Spears' protege

Perhaps a 2012 Best New Artist nominee? Sabi performed during the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet pre-show on Sunday night, alongside Cobra Starship. Their high-energy performance sparked some serious interest in the singer, who joined Gabe Saporta and the boys for their performance of "You Make Me Feel."
Saporta and Sabi sang as they prowled down the black carpet to the stage for the fans.
Sabi is also known for her work with Britney Spears -- a pal of hers, Sabi is an opening act on the "Femme Fatale" tour and even collaborated with Brit on "(Drop Dead) Beautiful."
Sabi was looking forward to the VMA tribute to her mentor, who won the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award on Sunday. "I personally have been able to watch firsthand how she's worked her butt off. She's been in the game for a minute. She's an icon. It's well overdue," she told reporters.
