'Kate Plus 8' canceled: Jon Gosselin is 'very relieved'
That didn't take long. Just a few hours after TLC announced the cancellation of "Kate Plus 8," former reality star and Kate Gosselin's ex-husband Jon Gosselin has chimed in.
Speaking with RadarOnline, the father of the Gosselin brood says that he's "very relieved" to get his children away from the prying eyes of the camera.
"I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children," he says, "and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future."
That last bit seems like it might be a dig at the 2010 report that Gosselin kids Alexis and Collin were expelled from their Pennsylvania school. The scandal went down after the divorce, his departure from "Jon & Kate Plus 8" and the series' ensuing rebrand.
Still, Gosselin seems sympathetic towards his ex-wife.
"I have no clue what her next move is," he says. "I hope she dedicates more time to the kids now, and I wish her the best as she goes forward with whatever career she wants to pursue."
