JFK Airport: Lost cat proves the power of Social Media
If there's anything we've learned covering celebrity news, it's the power of social media -- and a family whose cat was lost over the weekend during the Hurricane Irene airport troubles is finding unexpected support online. The storm certainly caused a lot of problems with various airlines. American Airlines is feeling the wrath of pet lovers everywhere after misplacing Karen Pascoe's cat, Jack at JFK airport in New York.
Jack has now been missing for 5 days according to the Facebook group that was set up after the airline lost the pet 30 minutes before Pascoe's flight was scheduled to take off. Pascoe was unable to reach an airline representative for an update within 60 hours, so her sister set up the site, which sent droves of sympathizers to American Airlines' facebook page and Twitter demanding updates.
They were so persistent that AA released a statement. "Our JFK employees are using a variety of methods to try to find Jack, including setting cans of cat food by his kennel," American Airlines spokesman Ed Martelle says. "Additionally, we are working with the Mayor's Alliance for New York City to assist in providing humane animal traps ... We offer our sincere regrets for this incident and are doing everything possible to locate him."
If you've got any info on the lost cat, pictured above, please contact Pascoe via her Facebook page.

How do we know that Jack wanted to be found???
I hope Jack will somehow find his way
home. He's a handsome cat & I once
lost my cat Johnny. He went out & I
never saw him again. I took it hard
because he was special to me.
Obviously NOT a cat person
I meant Lee is not a cat person!!
I almost lost my cat, Purrfect. Luckily, our neighbors caught her when she ran out of the house. We soon came and picked her up. Thank you helpful neighbors! And I really hope that Jack is found.
