Jennifer Grey: 'Dirty Dancing' reboot will be 'something special'
Jennifer Grey apparently had the time of her life on Tuesday (Aug. 9) after finding out that "Dirty Dancing" is in the queue for a remake. Lionsgate announced they have signed on Kenny Ortega ("High School Musical" trilogy) to direct the film. The co-star of the 1987 blockbuster spoke of her excitement on Twitter.
"I love @Kennyortega and trust that he will do something special #DirtyDancingRemake," she writes in Twitter-speak. "Blown away by all of the love expressed for #DirtyDancing. Makes me want to see it again. So grateful to have been a part of it."
Grey played Frances "Baby" Houseman in the original "Dirty Dancing" alongside Patrick Swayze. The movie grossed $213 million worldwide on a paltry $6 million production budget. In 2004, "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights" was a bust making only $27 million on a $25 million budget.
With "Footloose" scheduled for release Oct. 14 and "Dirty Dancing" in the pipeline, what dance flick could be next for a remake?
We're rooting for the 2009 movie "Dance Flick."

This the worst idea ever!
How about enough of these stupid remakes and come up with some new and fresher ideas!
Why? Has Hollywood run out of ideas? They should another 25 years before remaking this film.
This movie might suck.
DON'T DO IT!!
