Burning Man 2011: All you need to know

The annual Burning Man festival kicks off Monday (Aug. 29) in Black Rock City, NV. We've got all the pertinent information for attendees - or even non-attendees, since tickets are sold out. But there's always next year!
Are you a first-timer at Burning Man in 2011? Check out this First Timer's Guide, which includes information on the Ten Principles. The Ten Principles are the core concepts upon which the Burning Man project is based.
What's the Burning Man project? According to the site, "'Burning Man' is understood not as an event, but a way of life lived consistently with the Ten Principles. The Burning Man Project will provide infrastructural tools and frameworks that allow people to apply the Ten Principles in many communities and spheres of endeavor. It will include projects in these program areas: Arts, Civic Involvement, Culture, Education and Social Enterprise."
Here's a Survival Guide to peruse. Even if you aren't a first-timer, it's definitely full of information to familiarize yourself with.
Are you headed to Burning Man this year? It always runs the week before Labor Day, which this year means Aug. 29 to Sept. 5.

SOUNDS LIKE ANOTHER NEW AGE HIPPY-DIPPY THING TO WASTE TIME WITH LOL!
@Gary - What it "sounds like" to you, isn't even close to what it is. Educate yourself, then talk ****.
just another bunch of deadbeat musicians who cant get signed to any label and never held a real job..trust me i know i live in Topanga Cali
hahahaha nice
Sorry but you guys have no idea what you are talking about, I never been to burning man but I do know the value of it.
Believe me Burning Man is much closer to reality than living in the plastic world of Topanga Canyon. Living in Topanga Canyon is as much like Burning Man as I am to a brain surgeon. You need to go sit in the desert for a few weeks and your brain will clear from the Topanga stink..
This is a shameful rip-off. The
northern NM Hispano culture has
had their Zozo for decades.
Burning man is a hippy freak show, nothing more nothing less, always has been, believe me, I live here.
BURNING MAN WILL SAVE YOU MAANN!!! IT WILL SAVE YOUR SOUL FROM THE CORPORATE HYPOCRISY THAT IS AMERICA BRUH!!! Please.
Hey everyone- it is what you make of it. It's a chance to let loose, forget your dayjob, be outside, and seee a lot of really cool and really creative art. If you could see the creations they have out there you would realize alot of time and money went into it. MONEY yes...they have money, and jobs.
