'Bridget Jones' confirmed for third chapter of diary

renee-zellweger-bumpwatch.jpgTime for Renée Zellweger to sharpen her pencil: It appears a third "Bridget Jones's Diary" movie is in the works.

According to EW.com, the film has been greenlit but no further casting details are available. That said, it would be a surprise if anyone other than Zellweger played the role of the somewhat-lucky-in-love Brit. Zellweger earned a Oscar nomination for her role in original movie.

The series, based on Helen Fielding's novel, first moved to the silver screen in 2001, and then a sequel came about in 2004. To date, the films have a worldwide gross of $543 million. So a third seems to be a smart business decision.

This is the second time Working Title, the production company behind the first two "Bridget Jones" films, has said there will be a third. In 2009, the company told the BBC they were in the "early stages" of making the film.

Here's hoping this time around they're actually going forward.

I am just happy Renee will be putting on some weight. She looks SO much better when she has a little weight on her. When she is this skinny, she looks like a fragile doll thats about to fall over and break into a million pieces.

Go Bridget! :D

Gawd, I hope this isn't true. They should have stopped after the 1st one. The 2nd was rubbish.
