Betty White named 'Most Trusted Personality' in new survey

betty-white-on-fallon-getty.jpgAmerica's wacky Grandma, Betty White, has another title to add to her award-winning career -- "Most Trusted Personality."

In a Reuters/Ipsos poll, the 89-year-old "Hot in Cleveland" star beat out Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Morgan Freeman and Kate Middleton for the honor, scoring a 69 percent trustworthiness rating. She also came out on top in terms of popularity, with 86 percent of those polled having a favorable opinion of her.

White, whose career in Hollywood dates back 60 years, burst back onto the scene following her appearance at the 2006 William Shatner roast. Since then the one-time "Golden Girl" has been in as active as anyone, starring in commercials, TV and film. She is currently up for an Emmy for her role as Elka Ostrovsky, the Polish caretaker on the TV Land series.

The survey polled 2,012 Americans; here's a link to the full survey results.

I think she is a great woman. She is always so honest. That is what we need in America. She has been a good role model for many of us. My mom lived to be 99 1/2 and her favorite T.V. show was the Golden Girls. Thank you Betty White.

I think Betty White is a wonderful person. We need more people like her in America or even the world. She is honest.
My mother Celia Swank Lotridge loved to watch her on the Golden Girls. My mother lived to be 99 1/2 and she never hardly watched T.V but she did like the Golden Girls.

What a HOOT!!! You GO, girl! I have always loved you since I first saw you in the game shows in the early 60s, along with your dear husband, Allen Ludden. You 2 made a great couple. You always make the characters you play believable with at least a small part of you shining through each one. LOVE YOU! Keep going for as long as you possibly can. We'll be watching! Hugs! Scratches for your pets too.

She is a dear. My mother watched her in the early 50's on TV. Life with Elizabeth. Her early work can be seen on television archives.

Timing is everything. Her comedic timing is wonderful. I hope she goes on indefinitely.

And the Dundee goes too...

Wishing her the best in health and Happiness.

#1 in all our hearts

Pfr

I remember when Betty was on "You Don't Say"...a wonderful game show. She is and continues to be America's sweetheart..God has been good to her and to us..for letting us enjoy her many talents. Be well, dear Betty, and remember that we love you!!!!!

Sorry....Morgan Freeman? This man in his near 80's left his wife to date the woman he raised as his granddaughter.....WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

GROSS...

Good for betty white.

She really is a great actress to get this award.

I also love Betty White. But it is now with a asterisk ... Rue Callahan, when dying, wanted Betty to come by for a visit and she did not ... seems like "friends" can become unimportant. Admittedly, this is a story I cannot site but it bothers me that it is out there about a beloved woman.
