Anthony Bourdain roasts Paula Deen in interview; Deen cooks up a spicy comeback

Who knew that those who delight in lip-smacking food could talk such smack?Anthony Bourdain, the adventurous-food-eating host of Travel Channel's "No Reservations" took a swing at fellow celebrity foodie and Southern-style cooker Paula Deen during a recent interview.
Bourdain tells TV Guide Deen is, "The worst, most dangerous person to America ... She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she's proud of the fact that her food is f***ing bad for you ... Plus, her food sucks."
Belying her Southern charm, the 64-year-old TV chef shot back.
"Anthony Bourdain needs to get a life," she says to the NY Post. "It's not all about the cooking, but the fact that I can contribute by using my influence to help people all over the country."
This isn't the first time Deen has come under fire for her cooking, which typically includes a lot of fat, sugar and salt. In 2009, Deen was chided by Barbara Walters during an episode of "The View."
Walters questioned Deen saying, "You tell kids to have cheesecake for breakfast. You tell them to have chocolate cake and meatloaf for lunch. And french fries. Doesn't it bother you that you're adding to [childhood obesity rates]?"
Deen responded that it's all about moderation.
The Georgia native also faces with criticism for her role as spokesperson for Smithfield Foods, which recently dealt with allegations of animal cruelty at its Waverly, Va. facility.
Deen isn't the only celebrity chef Bourdain took a chop at during his interview. He also ripped Guy Fieri, Rachael Ray and Sandra Lee. Of Lee he said "I hate her works on this planet."
Somewhere Gordon Ramsay is miffed he missed out on this.

I think I speak for 90% of America by asking...and who exactly is Anthony Bourdain?!? He's just jealous that his star is not as bright as Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, or Guy Fieri's.
He's pretty famous...do you not get the travel channel? He's on there about 1/3 of the time...also has written books. I don't think he's jealous. He just says what he thinks and doesn't really care. You could say he's a jerk.
Anthony Bourdain seems to do this all the time. He doesn't cook anymore - he tours the world, writes and talks about food and cultures, occasionally judges Top Chef and takes pot shots at Food Network personalities. This is how he makes his living.
I don't think he's jealous, I think he's just acerbic. He's got something acerbic to say about everyone, will actually say it and reserves special attention for those whose outsized personality or manner of delivery bug him the most. And he doesn't care or take into account anyone's audience or target market. Otherwise, why in the world would he comment about Rachel Ray, for example?
YES! It's good old Paula Deen that's the most dangerous person to Americans! That's not hyperbolic ****, people! It's the god's honest truth. After all, it's Deen's cooking that makes fat Americans fat, not the people themselves who choose to eat unhealthy crap in the first place. No, surely Deen holds such a position of power that she can force-feed millions of people! Use substitutions in her recipes? Eat healthier versions of said recipes? Limit your intake of the unhealthy stuff? Everything in moderation? Just not eat her food to begin with? Who can figure out how to do all that!??!?! That diabolical mastermind! She knows our weakness! Forget terrorists, idiot politicians and the crumbling economy. Paula Deen is the worst. thing. ever. And why limit it to just America? Surely her terror and bile has spread across the ocean by now. This woman will singlehandedly destroy the human race! SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS!
Let's be honest: the only people who like Paula Deen are obese people. Americans just won't learn.
Knowing the way Tony talks / cusses, this would be "par for the course" (that's what makes him "seriously entertaining"), but the ironic thing is that his program (No Resevations) is shown on a channel now (mostly) owned by Scripps Networks (THE OWNERS OF FOOD NETWORK and other cable/satellite outfits).
Now how would the "suits" at Scripps would react?

Anthony COCAINE is more like it. If it is true that those channels are owned by the same company...Any publicity even negative is good publicity so he gets free publicity for those other shows !!! I THINK I WILL GO WATCH ANOTHER EPISODE OF HELL'S KITCHEN OR THE F WORD SINCE GORDAN RAMSEY TOPS THEM ALL WITH HIS APPROACH ON BBC AMERICA AND FOX... see I just gave Gordon free publicity by working that in...lol !!!
