Amy Winehouse wasn't planning adoption, says rep

amy-winehouse-singing-getty.jpgA representative for Amy Winehouse is shooting down rumors that the singer, who died last week after a long battle with addiction, was planning to adopt a 10-year-old girl from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.

"It's not true," the rep tells TMZ. "I think [Amy] might have met her in St. Lucia, but she was in no way about to adopt her."

The child's grandmother told London's Sunday Mirror that Winehouse had hired lawyers for a planned adoption.

"Amy wanted to have a child so bad," Marjorie Lambert, who is also the owner of a St. Lucia bar frequented by Winehouse, told the Mirror. "If she had not died, there is no doubt she would be here in St Lucia completing the adoption process. There is no way she would have done what she did to herself if Dannika was with her."

"Amy was already my mother," said 10-year-old Dannika Augustine. "I would call her mum and she would call me her daughter. She took care of me and we had fun together. I loved her and she loved me."

Easy enough to prove. Produce the attorney's that were hired and get a statement. Otherwise, seems to me grandma might be digging for some gold, or at least some more traffic to her bar.

Excellent. Please keep me updated on anything else she was not planning on doing.

LOL Jim.
This woman obviously couldn't take care of herself much less a 10 year old.
