Adam Levine keeps up attack on MTV
Adam Levine still doesn't want his MTV. And chances are they don't want him either.Just days after the lead singer of Maroon 5 and judge on NBC's "The Voice" tweeted "F*** you, VMA's" [editing added] he's back at it, this time during an interview with E!.
"It's public knowledge that it's not a music channel," he says. Levine's disdain for the network comes from its shift from airing music videos to its current line up of youth-oriented programs like "Jersey Shore" and "Teen Wolf."
"I remember when I was a kid I worshiped the VMAs," Levine adds. "I'd see these incredible moments where the whole world sat still to watch the VMAs and year 'round they'd play music -- Nirvana, Pearl Jam, bands I loved. There were a lot of memorable moments and not only that, it was music television. It was a celebratory day that represented what the channel stood for."
Levine says he's not the only musician to feel this way. He says many of his industry mates agree, "they just don't say it."
To MTV's credit, they didn't back down from the fight Levine started.
When Levine fired his initial "F-bomb" salvo, the official MTV Twitter account responded with, ".@adamlevine Soooo you'll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? (BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!) #VMA."
Sounds like this is one far from over.

He speaks the truth. I havent watched MTV in a long time. Basically since they quit being music video television.
I totally agree with Mr Levine..
I also agree with Levine. It's NOT Music television anymore.
Adam Levine is 100% correct. MTV has turned into a wasteland and VH1 has turned into BET.2 with all those ghetto shows.
