'The Dark Knight Rises' teaser trailer debuts

Finally, the first official look at "The Dark Knight Rises" has arrived.

The clip debuted over the weekend ahead of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2." Not a bad move, considering the film's box office-shattering record.

It's awesome in that it's, umm, the first look at "The Dark Knight Rises" and we get a peek at Christian Bale back in the bat suit and tantalizing voice-over from Liam Neeson as Ra's Al Ghul. Not to mention the scary shots of Tom Hardy as Bane.

But, alas, we get no preview of Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), Joseph Gordon-Levitt or Marion Cotillard.

What we do get is a clip of Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) asking "The Batman" to come back to fight "this evil" (aka Bane).

Meanwhile, Neeson intones "If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, then you become something else entirely. A legend, Mr. Wayne, a legend."

Indeed.

Cool.

Wonder what happened to Commissioner Gordon.

The voice-over is the same dialogue from one of the early scenes from "Batman Begins" but it does sound re-recorded. Who knows? As awesome as this film will be, as a die-hard Bat-fan, I found the teaser a bit underwhelming. The film is sure to be fantastic -- it's Chris Nolan and Christian Bale , what else needs be said? -- I just hope the next trailer is much more... more... lol.
