'The Dark Knight Rises' poster: Gotham City crumbles
Bruce Wayne, Catwoman and all the other characters in "The Dark Knight Rises" are nowhere to be found in the movie's first teaser poster. Doesn't matter.
We were pretty well sold on "The Dark Knight Rises" from day one, but the vertigo-inducing image on the poster has us incredibly intrigued. Gotham City is literally falling apart, which makes us wonder if the film will be even bleaker (if that's possible) than "The Dark Knight."
There's a chance that fans may soon get to see a little more of "The Dark Knight Rises," which is scheduled for release in July 2012. Hollywood Chicago notes online buzz that a teaser trailer for the movie may be attached to "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," which hits theaters on Friday (July 15). There's no official word, but the pieces seem to fit: Both movies come from Warner Bros., and using the studio's biggest release of this summer to promote its biggest movie of next summer makes a lot of sense.
For now, though, what do you think of the poster?

"Neither is any of the iconic Batman imagery." I don't really get what the writer meant, but what I see in the poster is the iconic bat logo... correct me please...hehehe
No iconic imagery whatsoever?? Maybe I'm blind, but there's a teeny bat in that picture..
the iconic bat logo is very visible
I love the way you can look at the poster two different ways. One way you just see the towers of Gotham and get the vertigo feeling, the other way you just see the bat symbol. Genius poster.
"Neither is any of the iconic Batman imagery."
You mean besides the bat formed from the light? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this poster.
Dude, you need to learn to see.
Wow, how many people can repeat what the first commenter said? Once is enough. And that "learn to see" comment was just all kinds of ignorant.
Big bat right in the middle.
That poster is SICK.
the bat logo is the the first thing i saw
