'The Amazing Spider-Man' trailer: Andrew Garfield spins a web
After a brief, leaked appearance online Tuesday, the trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man" returned to the web Wednesday (July 20), and it will probably stick around: The video up above is straight from the Sony Pictures site.
And also? It's really good.
We were skeptical of the decision to reboot the Spidey franchise only 10 years after the first "Spider-Man" movie was released, but after seeing what's on screen in the trailer, we're starting to come around. Andrew Garfield ("The Social Network") is a fine choice as Peter Parker, and we kind of like the decision to have Spidey go back to using man-made web shooters, in keeping with the character's Marvel Comics origins.
The first-person shots of Spider-Man traversing the rooftops of New York look great as well -- it's something we didn't really see in the previous "Spider-Man" movies, and it works.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 3, 2012. What do you think of the trailer? Are you on board with the reset?

Looks good! Trailer music from Salt?
Not sure yet, still dont like the costume and i want to see how The Lizard looks.
I don't understand why they are making this movie AGAIN.
I'm so tired of Spiderman , Superman, and Batman reboots, but Wonder woman can't get one film made because Hollywood finds It hard to write for her. Yet we still get average to less than average movies like Thor and Green Lantern costing upwards to 200 million to make.
Are you kidding me?!?!? Everyone and their mother knows the stale story of Spiderman - for one - secondly, those bad CGI rooftop shots are awful. Like a bad video game. Why can't you see that RICK PORTER...numbskull.
Looking forward to the reboot and finally are sticking to the comic book roots might I add. Can't wait!
Very good..congratulatulation..
Why in the world are they making this AGAIN?? Looks like the first Spiderman. And the CGI really fake. What a waste of energy, talent, and money.
I would have preferred Spiderman 4 with Toby back then casting John Malkovich as the Vulture and Ethan Embrey as Electro continuing Peter's romance with Mary Jane. If this one bombs then maybe they would reconsider going back to the original castings !!!
