Report: Amy Winehouse found dead in London
The United Kingdom Press Association is reporting that British singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London apartment around 3:50 p.m. London time Saturday afternoon (July 23). The London Ambulance Service arrived at her north London home and attended to Winehouse, but were unable to save her life. The singer recently canceled all her engagements and tour dates after a series of erratic public appearances. Prior to that, she had spent as short stint in London's Priory Clinic in an effort to sober up for the tour.
The death is being regarded right now as "unexplained," but drug and alcohol abuse have plagued Winehouse for most of her career. Winehouse has put out two studio albums, "Frank" in 2003 and "Back to Black" in 2006, for which she won five Grammy awards.
Winehouse was 27 at the time of her death, which is pretty eerie, since that's the age at which Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison also passed away.
We'll update this story as more details become available. Our condolences to her family, friends and fans.

One less "troubled" star to have to endure. I knew this would happen when I saw her shameful appearance in Belgrade last month. The world's no poorer and I look forward to her replacement. So fed up with self-indulgent, self-pitying people like her who have everything and still treat society with contempt.
Perhaps 'having everything' is not quite what it's cracked up to be!
@Keir let's see what people have to say about you when you die. You shouldn't be judging anyone. A life no matter who's is very precious.
You have no idea what her life was like. What she has been through.
Rest Amy,the struggle is over.
True! The struggle is over!
She was really talented...
how sad--her talented music will live on though--sweet dreams amy
Amazing how cold people can be when such a troubled talented person passes. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
^ Keir, there are no replacements for human beings.
@Keir- haha, I run in to self righteous people like you every once in a while and you really do nothing but remind me that there are some petty a**holes that feel better about them selves only when they can bring down another's persona. You are just as pathetic as those you make fun of, remember that little boy, or girl. Little either way.
Not surprising but still sad.
God rest her soul.
