Miss Teen USA: Danielle Doty of Texas wins 2011 crown

The Miss Teen USA pageant crowned a new titleholder on Saturday (July 16): Danielle Doty of Harlingen, Texas.The 18-year-old beat out Audra Mari of North Dakota to win the title and will take over from reigning Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford of Maryland. The other finalists were Alexis Swanstrom (California, second runner-up), Taylor Clark (Kansas, third runner-up) and Sydnee Stottlemyre (Missouri, fourth runner-up).
Miss Teen USA 2005 Allie LeForce and Chet Buchanan, a Las Vegas radio and TV host, served as hosts for the pageant, which streamed live online. The pageant did not take place in the U.S.A., but at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas.
Doty is the second Texan to be named Miss Teen USA. Christie Lee Woods, who was later an "Amazing Race" contestant, won the title in 1996.

Because nobody cares to watch it at all. It wasn't even broadcast on TV.
She looks a lot older in that one particular shot. She looks older than even some of the Miss USA contestants. Congratulations to Texas, they didn't make top 15 since 05 and came back with a bang.

Are they sure she is 18? She is very pretty, but she does not look 18...Maybe it's just a badly angled photo, but my first thought when I saw the article, was that her mother was accepting the crown or something. She easily looks well into her thirties. Maybe it's the makeup or the lighting...
