Milla Jovovich updates Milady de Winter in 'Three Musketeers' trailer

Was Milady Clarick de Winter an antagonist and murderess in Alexandre Dumas' novel, "The Three Musketeers?" Sure. Was she a base-jumping ninja? Not so much.

But that's what it looks like Milla Jovovich will be doing when she takes on the role in the October 21 update of the classic tale. In fact, artistic liberties abound in the Summit adaptation -- which also stars Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew McFadyen, Luke Evens, Ray Stevenson and Logan Lerman.

The two-minute trailer, which plays out more like a "Pirates of the Caribbean" spot than a period piece based on classic literature, shows off "Matrix"-style battle scenes, steampunk aesthetics and aerial boat cannon-fights. (Yup.)
