Gene Simmons proposes to Shannon Tweed

After two children and 28 years of unwedded bliss, Gene Simmons has indeed proposed to girlfriend Shannon Tweed. Conveniently enough the entire thing was caught on camera for the season finale of A&E's reality show "Gene Simmons Family Jewels."

"I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got," says Simmons in a clip from the show.

"You're the only one I love. And the only one I ever will love. I never said those words to anybody and I don't ever want to -- it's funny, I used to watch movies where they say 'I can't live without you, but for me it's true.'"

At which point Tweed appears to break down and cry. Or attempt to with what mobility is left in her facial muscles.

Ain't love grand?
