Christie Brinkley says 'marriage is ridiculous,' she won't be doing it again

If you thought the two years since Christie Brinkley's very public, very bitter divorce from philandering ex-husband Peter Cook had given her time to cool down, you're wrong.
Speaking with UK magazine Stella, the 57-year-old model says she's ruled out marriage for good.
"I can now say unequivocally I would never get married again," says Brinkley, who tied the knot three times before wedding Cook. "There's absolutely no reason to."
It seems that it was her divorce from Cook that really pushed her to the breaking point. "I learned in my divorce that marriage is ridiculous," she says. "You take a vow but you don't get brownie points when you honor your vow and the other person doesn't. The court doesn't recognize that. It's like, 'All right now, let's see how we're going to divvy up the kids.' Well, obviously, the one that didn't break the vows should be the role model, but no."
Fortunately, just because she's no longer a fan of the institution, doesn't mean she's ruled out love completely. Brinkley says when she gets discouraged about finding the right person, she just looks to her parents who are still together and "madly in love."

Christie Brinkley's ex-husband was PETER Cook, not DAVID Cook!!!!
Christie Brinkley's ex-husband was PETER Cook, not DAVID Cook!!!!
Your Four Marriages may have been "ridiculous" cause you made a mockery out of them..just sayin
Really, Christie Brinkley becomes a star on Broadway and is so successful that she is asked to take her role to London and this is what Mickey is "reporting"? I think her last husband gave crazed egomaniacs a bad name and if she trusted some unworthy people but has not only survived but is more beautiful and successful than ever - well, I'll have what she's having! Congrats to her for sure!!
Great, charitable and talented girl!! Thrilled she will not be trusting bad guys anymore, she deserves better!
Guess Christie forgot that she was married to Billy Joel when she fell in love with her third husband. (Rick Taubman???) Guess when the shoe's on the other foot it really pinches!
I have always been a big fan of Christie's and her charitable work has benefited my family directly. That is why it is so pathetic to see her shameful ex trying to rewrite Christie's history before him and the sordid history he chose to create... Her preference would have been to have lived happily ever after I'm sure. Poor kids too, imagine your daddy stalking teenagers and filming his grandiose self.
Alot of rich guys are lucky, they get to keep half their stuff.
Gee lets see, 4 marriages...4 divorces...did u ever stop and think that the problem may ACTUALLY be you Christie ???
No, Christie, marriage is ridiculous, you are. Just because you couldn't manage to succeed at it doesn't make it ridiculous, it just makes you sound bitter.
