Candy Spelling sells Los Angeles mansion to Petra Ecclestone for $85 million

Candy Spelling, widow of legendary TV producer Aaron Spelling and mother of "90210" alumna Tori Spelling, put her 57,000-square-foot Los Angeles mansion on the market in 2009 for $150 million. On Thursday (July 14), it finally sold -- but, according to the Wall Street Journal -- for only 43 percent of its asking price.

The buyer, 22-year-old Petra Eccletsone, is the daughter of British billionaire Formula One racing boss Bernie Ecclestone.

The $85 million price tag, though lower than Spelling's desired price, is still one of the highest ever paid for a single family home in the U.S. The home, known as "The Manor," has 14 bedrooms, 27 bathrooms, a bowling alley, beauty salon, gift-wrapping rooms and parking for 100 cars.

Eccletsone, who launched a line of men's wear (which has since been liquidated) at the age of 19, is set to marry fiance James Stunt in August.
