'Bus Stop': Amanda Seyfried takes on iconic Marilyn Monroe role
She starred in the movie adaptation of the musical "Mamma Mia," now Amanda Seyfried is stepping into Marilyn Monroe's shoes on Broadway. According to the New York Post, Seyfried will join newlywed Benjamin Walker in a staged reading of the play "Bus Stop."
Seyfried will play the role of Cherie, an aspiring singer, while Walker will take on the role of Bo Decker, a young cowboy. Monroe played Cherie in the 1956 film adaptation.
At this stage, it's only a reading of the play that is attracting several stars. However, all the buzz it is generating could mean a full stage production in the near future.
