Brooke Shields goes goth for 'The Addams Family': What do you think of her Morticia get-up?

Though Brooke Shields flubbed her performance at the Tony Awards -- she participated in host Neil Patrick Harris' opening number and needed a do-over -- she's gotten over the embarrassment and is embarking on another Broadway adventure of her own. Shields has taken over the iconic role of Morticia Addams in the musical comedy "The Addams Family" at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre."I am delighted to be joining The Addams Family this summer," Shields says in a statement. "When the producers asked me to come see the show a few months ago, I found it to be wonderfully entertaining, funny, clever and even touching, and I knew immediately that I wanted to be the next Morticia, following the amazing Bebe Neuwirth. I can't wait to join Roger [Rees] and the wonderful cast."
We're loving Shields' look -- such a departure from her typical All-American shtick -- and so is she. "That's the beauty about doing these parts," she tells Playbill. "You put those wigs and costumes on, and you feel like a little kid. My kids love playing dress-up, as do I - obviously - only I've got experts helping me, so it's not just Halloween. It's the best costume party ever!"
The actress has been around the Broadway block plenty of times before. She made her Great White Way debut in 1994 as Rizzo in "Grease," and she also starred in "Wonderful Town," "Chicago" and "Cabaret."
She'll be playing Morticia through October -- will you be checking out her performance?

I was going to see this show in NY later this year. I hope she is gone by then or I will not see it!
She actually looks quite good as Morticia. Tough for anyone to follow Bebe Neuwirth though - that woman's acting chops are stellar.

Sad. just sad. You have to have a dark, mysterious elegance and charisma to pull off Morticia, Brooke Shields doesn't have either.

SHe's Brooke Freaking Shields... She'd look good in a burlap sack.
I think the outfit looks a little too bright. It should be totally black and skintight. Shields, however, looks quite attractive.
Although she looks gorgeous in Morticia's outfit, she is the worst dancer I've ever seen on a musical. The final tango scene is just... terrible. And her singing is a shame. She is NOT Morticia at all. Couln't stop thinking how Angelica Houston's dark charisma was missing...
