Box Office: 'Captain America: The First Avenger' soars to $65 M opening weekend
Chris Evans has capped off the superhero summer with "Captain America: The First Avenger" and the studio has to be happy with its opening weekend box office earnings of $65.8 million, according to studio estimates."Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," though down considerably from its record-breaking opening weekend, still had a strong $48 million dollar sophomore weekend, which should put it over the $275 million mark domestically.
"Friends With Benefits" had a decent opening at $18.5 million, though pre-release estimates had it slightly higher, at $20 million. The similarly-themed rom-com "No Strings Attached" opened to $20.3 million and won its opening weekend, though the competition was nowhere near as stiff.

That's great. I had hoped it was more though. I really enjoyed the movie. It had a lot of heart. It was so much better than Transformers 3.
@ Henery - you cant compare the two movies. not even remotely same in any form other than action. still was an awsome movie. figured wouldnt get 100 mil since theatre was only 3/4 full.

The Harry Potter debacle begs the question of why would anyone camp out for days or even weeks at a time for Harry Potter tickets when now there are all these empty theaters playing the Potter movie to no one?
