Amy Winehouse called Dr. Drew several times prior to death

Could Dr. Drew have helped Amy Winehouse?The "Celebrity Rehab" doctor reveals to Los Angeles radio station, KROQ, that the troubled singer has made several attempts to reach out to him prior to her death. Unfortunately, her calls her never received due to his busy schedule.
"I found out also yesterday that, believe it or not, she was trying to contact me which was weird. Janice Dickenson told me that." He tells KROQ hosts Kevin & Bean, "I remember getting calls from Europe and thinking 'What the hell is this?'"
Even though Dr. Drew never had a chance to respond to Winehouse's cries for help, he doesn't believe that she died of alcohol withdrawals like her parents have stated.
"It's not what she died of, I can virtually guarantee you but it's an interesting reminder to all of us that alcohol is the only drug from which the withdrawal is commonly fatal," he explains. "You go down in a ball of fire. You get really really sick and you cease and you become encephalopathic and confused and your heart becomes erratic and it's not like you just drop dead like her parents are suggesting."

I do NOT believe these claims. Not for a second. The idea that Dr. Drew, being the publicity hound that he is, or his assistants, would be too busy to return a call from Amy Winehouse, perhaps the world's most renowned addict? And all that non-sense about getting calls from Europe and wondering What the hell is this? What, did the calls come on his private phone, and he failed to even listen to the messages? And then he makes a diagnosis that she surely didn't die of alcohol withdrawal -- Well, how the hell would he know? That's some call to make considering he never met her and knows very little about her underlying conditions or the final days or weeks of her life. Just another pathetic attempt by "Dr. Drew" to get more media attention.

He`s a media *****, H e was probally too busy with a screening of a new movie or a new"tv show" he`s producing. This guys so full of it, how many times do you get calls from England on your cell phone and you can`t take them."bullsh$t".This guy is all about the money and he should say so.
