Actress Heather Matarazzo to wed girlfriend Carolyn Murphy in New York City

Now that actress Heather Matarazzo's ("The Princess Diaries," "Welcome to the Dollhouse") home state of New York has become the sixth state to legalize same-sex marriage, she tells the AP that she plans to wed her longtime girlfriend Carolyn Murphy. "My eyes and spirit have opened up since I found someone that I get to share my life with," says Matarazzo.
And girlfriend Carolyn, a recording artist working on her first studio album, says that they didn't want to rush right down to City Hall the first day the law took effect. They want a big wedding with all the trimmings, which will probably top 200 guests.
This wedding has been a long time coming, as they became engaged three years and were going to get married in California, but could not do it in time, as Proposition 8 once again barred same-sex marriage in California.
The couple is also ready to start a family. Matarazzo says they think Carolyn will have a child first, then Heather, then they'll adopt. Heather herself is adopted.

I'm glad they now have the opportunity to get married. I hope one day same gender marriages will be legal in all 50 states.

Personally I say let the hetero's keep "marriage". They have screwed it up so much that it means nothing anymore. I prefer that a new name is thought up for Gays. Just as long as it has all the same rights as marriage does for hetero's. Of course then hetero's will probably complain and say that it is not fair that they can't use the same as gays. I can hear it now.

Please, marriage isn't sacred any more. How many straight people get married and divorce over one stupid fight? Most. I don't see what the problem is and why it bothers so many people. All gay people are asking for is the same rights that ALL AMERICANS have and I don't see why the government should keep them from what the constitution says they are entitled to. Peoples religiuos beliefs should not determine what marriage constitutes since there is a seperation of church and state. Religious fanatics have no right to pick and choose who in this country has what rights since the constitution blantantly spells out that all should have the same rights. These zealots should be ashamed of themselves. I say Good Luck to Heather and Carolyn!
Glad they now have the chance to marry. This law needs to pass in every state. Marriage= 1 Adult + 1 Adult!!!
Marriage is good for two things: Tax breaks and adultery.
If America was a civilized country it would be legal coast to coast. Marriage is what you make of it. If you're a selfish idiot then your marriage will fail. As for the homophobes they are dangerous, stupid, immoral, mean, and declining in numbers, which just pisses them off.
