Tracy Morgan in hot water (again) for joking about 'retards,' 'cripples'

Tracy Morgan, who just got over a big-time case of career jeopardy after remarking during a stand-up routine that he'd likely stab any son of his who turned out to be gay, seems to have gone and stepped in it again.This time, the comedian and star of NBC's "30 Rock," offended an entirely different segment of the population.
"Don't ever mess with women who have retarded kids," said Morgan during a Saturday (June 25) performance at New York's Caroline's Comedy Club. "Them young retarded males is strong. They're strong like chimps."
He also did a bit about having sex with "a cripple" with a dialysis machine and a prosthetic arm.
The comment prompted some groans from the audience, according to the New York Times. And, reports E!, the Arc -- a group that serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities -- is asking Morgan for a public apology.
"Mr. Morgan has an incredibly powerful platform from which to fix this, and if he's learned anything in the last few weeks, he can't bomb this apology," said Arc CEO Peter Berns.

Some comedy is crude. There have been way worse said in these subject areas but since its tracy morgan it gets a hell of alot of attention about how its wrong and why he needs to apologize. I don't agree with what he's said its vulgar, but lets give it a rest not everyone is courteous and humble in the world as much as I would love that. Some people are just rude and idiotic and got famous somehow...we're making him more famous by blowing this up out of proportion
yes, he should apologize. Really, though, he should just keep his mouth shut. If all he can do when he does "comedy" is say offensive things, maybe he needs to find another line of work.

There have been many comedians who have routines based on edgy subjects (Richard Pryor and George Carlin come immediately to mind) but the difference is that they were funny. As DA wrote, Tracy Morgan's act seems to be based on saying the most controversial things and then feigning ignorance. Perhaps he's living by the old saying, "any publicity, even bad, is good publicity".
I have been just dumbfounded by his(Tracy Morgan)stupidity. I am the parent of a 'crippled' and he happens to be retarded.Does this mean that this moronic axxhoile would stab one of his children, if they were retarded? He has more than proven he has no intellect,compassion and and undertsnading is not in his brain or lack ther of,....a brain with understanding. I am convinced now that regardless of HOW much money he has,...he is still an ignorant sob.
People who think being offended by racist, sexist, homophobic or misogynistic "jokes" makes you a crybaby are everything that is wrong with this world. If I was god, there are a lot of people I'd smite.

Just because we're different doesn't mean that a person can treat us as if we're somehow less than the general population. "Crippled," "mentally challenged," or "normal" we're all the same in God's eyes and we should be the same in society's. That is, we all derseve the same dignity and respect. If he can't understand that, than he's the one lacking something-- a heart.
