"Larry Crowne" not only tells the relatable story of a middle-aged man who loses his job and must return to college, but it starts two of the most popular actors of the last 20 years. Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, who worked together in the 2007 movie "Charlie Wilson's War," are together again on screen.
Roberts says Hanks, who co-wrote and directed "Crowne," tells Access Hollywood that Hanks had some funny demands for the costumes.
"He was like, 'Shorten it. Shorten it. Shorten it. Hike it up. I'm wearing micro-mini[skirts]! Gotta get 'em in the
theater!" laughs Roberts.Despite the ribbing, Hanks had nothing but praise for Roberts. "She is not intimidating, but here's the deal - she raises your game," Hanks tells Access. "She's got the spirit of life that brings everybody up and makes them do their best work."
"Larry Crowne" opens nationwide Friday, July 1. Will you be buying a ticket?
