'Today,' Abe Vigoda bid Meredith Vieira farewell with 'Don't Stop Believin'' cover
Call it the "Glee" effect, but on Thursday morning the staff of NBC's "Today Show" pulled out all the stops to send departing co-host Meredith Vieira off in style.
In what was apparently a surprise to Vieira, the staff lip-synced their way through Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" -- a song that has taken on new life since being used in both the finale of HBO's "The Sopranos" and "Glee's" pilot episode.
Matt Lauer kicked off the live tribute, but NBC staffers scored a little help along the way from Abe Vigoda (totally random), "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon, correspondent Jenna Bush-Hager and "Today" fourth-hour hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie-Lee Gifford, who both wore t-shirts reading "Wine Lovers (heart) Meredith."
Good thing Meredith was wearing comfy shoes. We'll see if Ann Curry gets this kind of goodbye. If she ever leaves.
[Correction: An earlier version post incorrectly identified "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon as Jimmy Kimmel.]

Very nice farewell for Meredith.
One mistake you made in your article: That was Jimmy FALLON, not Jimmy Kimmel. Remember, Kimmel works for ABC and his show broadcasts here in Los Angeles.
I don't remember Jimmy Kimmel looking like that.
WOW! That was really amazing. What a feel good story. They really went all out for
Ms. Vieira. She must be a very special lady. I know I would be extremely touched by such an outpouring of affection. I love it.
That has to be the best sendoff I have ever seen, so very touching. Seeing Abe Vigoda was an added bonus, always did love him.
This is sweet
Good for Ms. Viera. A classy lady.
The other problem too was that today is Wednesday not Thursday like the article said in the beginning. ZAP2IT you all have to proof read before posting.
This is how human beings really are. We are "Humane" and we all love each other..This really touched me.
The send off was today. Wednesday. Not Thursday.
This made my day!!!!
