Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis commemorate 20 years of 'Thelma and Louise'

thelma-louise-mgm.jpgIt's been 20 years since "Thelma and Louise" (oh, and Brad Pitt) stole our hearts with the Ridley Scott directed girl-power crime drama. Though the film was technically released in late May, the film's stars Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis will honor their iconic roles on Tuesday (June 7) at a Toronto event.

The Oscar-winning film follows two best friends who find themselves as outlaws on the run during an innocent roadtrip gone wrong. Sarandon's Louise shoots and kills a would-be rapist who threatens Davis' Thelma. The duo runs, only to find themselves face to face with the Grand Canyon in the end.

And who could forget Pitt in his breakout role as J.D., a paroled (but gorgeous) robber they meet along the way.

The actresses each earned Oscar nominations for their roles, and tonight will discuss the film's influence over the past 20 years.
