'Smallville's' Sam Jones sentenced to one year in prison

sam-jones-iii-bms.jpgWell, isn't this just super. Former "Smallville" star Sam Jones III, who played Clark Kent's friend Pete Ross in the early seasons of the show, has been sentenced to one year in jail for conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 pills of Oxycodone.

TMZ reports that before sentencing, Jones groveled. He "begged the judge for mercy," insisting that he lost not only his dog and his car in the midst of the drug charges, but also his job on "Blue Mountain State," where he played college freshman football star Craig Shilo.

The judge went easy on Jones, considering the prosecutors were looking for a five-year sentence. He was granted a lesser sentence because his role in the drug ring was minor, standing as the "Hollywood connection" for the suppliers.

Jones is having a rough couple of weeks in general. His girlfriend, Playmate Karissa Shannon, dumped him after Hugh Hefner's breakup with Crystal Harris in order to move back into the Playboy mansion with her twin sister, Kristina.

What the hell are you doing you moron?! Not that you were that important to the show, but you quit Smallville to sell drugs?! Now look at you, you're heading to jail and you probably won't get another acting job after you get out!!!

Untrue, Clay. His next acting job will be to pretend he enjoys hanging on to a 300-lb. lifer's pants pocket.
