Rooney Mara goes topless, shows off nipple ring for provocative 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' poster

We have to hand it to "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" star Rooney Mara -- she's certainly going all-out for her role as damaged goth investigator Lisbeth Salander. The film, which won't even hit theaters for another six months, has already launched a highly provocative marketing campaign, including a leaked Redband trailer and the poster above.

In the uncensored version of the poster, Mara bares all -- including Lisbeth's nipple ring -- as co-star Daniel Craig holds her protectively. You can view the image here, but obviously, it's NSFW. In addition to this revealing shot, Mara posed for a racy in-character spread in W Magazine.

The first poster for the film (billed the "Feel bad movie of Christmas"), showed a brighter version of the same image, with the release date stamped over Mara's exposed nipple - though you could still see the barbell piercing she's sporting.
